Who is this study a good fit for?
Survivors and supporters enroll in this study together, as a pair.
Survivors may be eligible if they:
Are located in the US
Have had an unwanted sexual experience within the past 10 weeks (unfortunately, we are not able to enroll survivors with experiences that happened more than 10 weeks ago)
Are at least 14 years old
Are currently feeling distressed about the unwanted sexual experience
Have a smartphone or computer with Internet access that they could use to attend the Zoom appointment
Are able to read and speak English or Spanish
Have an eligible support person (see below) who is able and willing to attend the appointment with them
Are NOT currently feeling suicidal
Are NOT currently experiencing symptoms of psychosis
Supporters may be eligible if they:
Are located in the US
Are a friend, family member, or romantic partner that the survivor has already told about the recent unwanted sexual experience
Are at least 14 years old
Have a smartphone or computer with Internet access that they could use to attend the Zoom appointment
Are able to read and speak English or Spanish
Are NOT the person who assaulted the survivor
Have NOT been violent or abusive to the survivor
Are NOT having major relationship conflict with the survivor
